Colonoscopy
This procedure is an outpatient procedure used not only to detect polyps, the precursors of cancer, but to remove them and prevent them from developing into larger tumors. Contrary to popular misconception, it is not painful and the preparation for the procedure is very tolerable. If your colonoscopy does not reveal polyps, you would not need another for ten years. With polyps, this interval may be shorter.
Same-Day Hemorrhoid Treatment
Hemorrhoids are often chronic and troublesome and require an individualized approach. At times, symptoms thought to be due to hemorrhoids are actually from other conditions. It is important for Dr. Patil to assess you and determine the true cause of your issues. With hemorrhoids, less than 10% of people will require surgery. Most patients can be evaluated and a treatment plan can be initiated on the same day.
Robotic Colorectal Cancer Surgery
Dr. Patil has deep expertise with robotic and laparoscopic surgery and performs many of his procedures in this manner. This often allows for a faster recovery, less pain, and an earlier return to work and normal activity. Outpatient Anorectal Surgery
In a small number of patients, medical or office-based treatments may not be effective and they may require outpatient surgery. These are procedures that are performed safely and effectively in an outpatient surgery center under sedation. You will go home the same day and will return to your normal function quickly.
Minimally-Invasive Surgery For Inflammatory Colon Diseases
Inflammatory conditions of the colon, such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and diverticulitis, can create chronic symptoms that do not respond to medical management. In these cases, surgery may be necessary. Dr. Patil employs minimally-invasive surgery even in these complex conditions to ensure his patients get the best possible recovery.
